WiPAO Rules and Guidelines

Read them carefully before participating in events and forums.
 

1. Be respectful.

   • Treat all other members with kindness. Avoid making any rude or mean comments.

   • Please help to foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
      

2. Hate speech, discrimination, and bullying are not tolerated.

   • The use of slurs or hate speech anywhere online or offline will result a strike.

   • This also applies to behavior on our website and discord. There is no place for bigots in our community.
      

3. Do not share any inappropriate content on this website.

   • NSFW content should not be posted here.

   • This forum should not be used to advertise other events or groups not affiliated with WiPAO. Please contact the organizing team if you are unsure.

   • Moderators will use their discretion on what is and is not appropriate for this server.

4. You must be a graduate student or postdoc.

   • This group is meant to support women and gender minorities going through the graduate and postdoc process.

   • Graduate students and postdocs affiliated with interconnected departments/fields are welcome!

   • Undergraduate students may be permitted on a case-by-case basis.
      

5. Educating is our priority. Be open to learning.

   • We understand that everyone has different perspectives. Our goal is to create a safe space for women and gender minorities to be heard and to foster a dialogue around the inequalities women and gender minorities face everyday.

   • We implement a two strike policy. Strike one will result in a conversation with a WiPAO organizer. Strike two will result in a temporary suspension from group activities until a conversion with a trained mediator present can occur.

   • Serious offenses may forfeit your first strike and you may be asked to leave.

   • Serial offenders will be asked to leave the group.
