Welcome to WiPAO ABQ!
Hi there! We are a group of graduate students trying to build a community for women and gender minorities working in the fields of physics, astronomy and optical science. Each of these fields is traditionally male dominated, and it can be easy for gender minorities to feel isolated and invisible in these environments. We all know this and have experienced it before. Our group, WiPAO, is attempting to combat this by creating a safe space where we can be seen and heard by fellow gender minorities in science. We organize events both social and structured to provide an outlet for us outside of work. These events are low stress and low expectations, meant to foster community and camaraderie. We hope to see you at one soon!
